Dear Ms Howell and fellow CARIB-AGRI readers,

FAO’s Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition (FSN Forum) has just launched the new online discussion ”What role can agricultural extension and advisory services play in realizing gender equality and improved nutrition?”.
In this open exchange we invite practitioners, experts, students and other stakeholders to share their opinions on how deeply extension services should be involved in addressing gender inequalities and promoting nutrition and what challenges may hinder them from achieving these broader development goals.
You can access the online discussion here: http://www.fao.org/fsnforum/activities/discussions/extension-gender-nutrition
Further information can be found in the invitation below.

The theme of CANARI's Annual Report 2014-2015<http://www.canari.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/CANARI-AR-2014-15_final.pdf> "Shifting paradigms in policy and practice" was chosen recognising CANARI's continued innovation in work it is implementing as well as collaboration with partners to catalyse, influence and support shifts in policy and practice, guided by its Strategic Plan 2011-2016.

Our work over the period included the continued use of innovative tools and approaches to engage stakeholders, including CSOs, fisherfolk, and community-based enterprises. CANARI has also been catalysing new thinking across the region on how small and micro-enterprises (SMEs) can be engines for transforming Caribbean economies.

Interesting article about FAO's vegetable and fruit garden grown in a bag! Is this not a perfect solution for those who lack land space, can you see this working in your country, what is your take on it? Read the article and let us know what you think.
