Dear Members,
Protracted crises situations are those in which food insecurity and malnutrition are particularly severe, persistent and at scale. Sharing many key characteristics, underlying causes can include natural and human made disasters, food and financial crises and often affect populations simultaneously.
CFS is developing the Agenda for Action for Addressing Food Insecurity in Protracted Crises (CFS-A4A):

The Improved Global Governance for Hunger Reduction Programme<http://www.foodsec.org/web> seeks to concretely improve the way in which the global community works together to eradicate hunger and malnutrition. It is funded by the European Union (EU), and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
