Dear Colleagues,
In connection with the upcoming Seventh International Conference on Agricultural Statistics<http://icas2016.istat.it/> scheduled to take place in Rome, Italy from 26 - 28 October 2016, I would like to bring your kind attention to the planned side event Training Seminar on Methodology for Agricultural Censuses and Surveys<http://icas2016.istat.it/young-statisticians-meeting/> on 24-25 Oct 2016.
The Training Seminar is intended to encourage young statisticians to take an active interest in agricultural statistics and will be taught by experts from the National Agricultural Statistics Service and the Economic Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture. This is a great opportunity for the APCAS member states to provide international exposure to their young statisticians on the art and craft of organizing agricultural censuses and surveys. I therefore, encourage you to review the materials available on the training seminar link above, and to identify suitable young statisticians (those born after 1981) within your own organizations to attend this event. Nominated candidates are required to register directly as per the instructions on the training seminar link above.
Young Statisticians are additionally encouraged to join the Paper Contest and submit a paper covering any of the topics listed as sessions for ICAS-VII (see List of Sessions<http://icas2016.istat.it/sessions/> and Rules for the Paper Contest<http://icas2016.istat.it/young-statisticians-meeting/>). Winners of the Paper Contest will be eligible to receive travel expenses and the appropriate subsistence allowance to attend the Training Seminar. Papers must be submitted before the end of August 2016.
Regards,
