Dear Forum Members,

Since the FAO Biotechnology Forum began (some 13 years and 19 conferences ago!), we have published all the Background Documents and all the Summary Documents prepared on the Forum website (http://www.fao.org/biotech/biotech-forum/).

Some of them also provided the basis for a number of FAO books. For 2 of these books, copies are available on request. These are:

1. "Biotecnología Agrícola para Países en Desarrollo: Resultados de un Foro Electrónico"

The Spanish translation of the book containing the background and summary documents of Conferences 1-6 (dedicated to the topics of the crops sector, forestry sector, animal sector, fisheries sector, food security and intellectual property rights respectively) of the FAO Biotechnology Forum. The full titles of the conferences can be seen on the Forum website.

(The electronic version of the book is available in English, Spanish and Chinese at http://www.fao.org/docrep/004/y2729s/y2729s00.htm)

2. "Results from the FAO Biotechnology Forum: Background and dialogue on selected issues"

Containing the background and summary documents of Conferences 7-12 (dedicated to the topics of the GMO gene flow, agricultural research, GMO regulation, marker-assisted selection, food processing and public participation respectively).

(The electronic version of the book is available at http://www.fao.org/docrep/009/a0744e/a0744e00.htm).

At the same time, we also have available some copies of:

3. "Socio-economic impacts of non-transgenic biotechnologies in developing countries: The case of plant micropropagation in Africa"

(on the web at http://www.fao.org/docrep/011/i0340e/i0340e00.htm)

4. "Marker-assisted selection: Current status and future perspectives in crops, livestock, forestry and fish"

(The electronic version of the book is available at http://www.fao.org/docrep/010/a1120e/a1120e00.htm).

5. The FAO Biotechnology Glossary (in Chinese, English, French and Russian)

(The electronic version of the book is available in these and other languages at http://www.fao.org/biotech/biotech-glossary/en/).

To request a copy of one or more of these publications, please send your full postal address to [log in to unmask]

With best regards

John
