No-Till News Corn and Soybean Survival in Saturated and Flooded Soils

Corn seedlings with less than six leaves can withstand 4 days under water
if air temperatures are lower than the high 70s F, says University of
Nebraska Extension, while the effect of saturated and flooded soils any
time and for any duration of the soybean germination process will reduce
germination and emergence.

The majority of no-tillers who responded to our survey — 68% — said they
grow cover crops and have crop insurance, while 19% said they grow cover
crops and do not have crop insurance.
