Dear Subscribers,

Please watch this video from the Oxford Farming Conference 2017. It is
called 'Soil Saviours'.

https://vimeo.com/198187224

Arable area under Conservation Agriculture (CA) in the UK is on the
increase. Latest estimate show that the area of arable land under CA in
2016 was some 362,000 hectares (8% of total arable land in the UK). This is
an increase of some 140% since 2011 when the CA area was estimated to cover
about 150,000 hectares of arable land.

This change is largely farmer-led. UK farmers are becoming increasingly
aware of the fact that conventional tillage agriculture has become
economically and environmentally unsustainable.

There are now several farmer organizations and groups in the UK which are
adopting and promoting CA or no-till farming systems.

The next No-till Show and Conference organized by the Groundswell group is
planned for 29 June 2017 (http://www.groundswellag.com/)*.*
