No-till farming is on the rise. That’s actually a big deal.

For some reason, the writer of the above article has used 2004 CA data from
FAO but obtained from the Scientific American which shows that CA area was
about 96 million hectares worldwide.


However, the CA data for 2011 available from the smae FAO source shows that
the worldwide spread of CA in 2011 was 125 milltion hectares, some 9% of
global arable cropped land (see attached article by Friedrich, T., Derpsch,
R and Kassam, A.H. 2012).
