*Conservation Agriculture is an ecosystem approach to regenerative
sustainable agriculture and land management based on the practical
application of context-specific and locally adapted three interlinked
principles of: (i) Continuous no or minimum mechanical soil disturbance
(no-till seeding/planting and weeding, and minimum soil disturbance with
all other farm operations including harvesting); (ii) permanent
maintenance of soil mulch cover (crop biomass, stubble and cover crops);
and (iii) diversification of cropping system (economically, environmentally
and socially adapted rotations and/or sequences and/or associations
involving annuals and/or perennials, including legumes and cover crops),
along with other complementary good agricultural production and land
management practices. Conservation Agriculture systems are present in all
continents, involving rainfed and irrigated systems including annual
cropland systems, perennial systems, orchards and plantation systems,
agroforestry systems, crop-livestock systems, pasture and rangeland
systems, organic production systems and rice-based systems. Conservation
Tillage, Reduced Tillage and Minimum Tillage are not Conservation
Agriculture, and nor is No-Till on its own* (more at:

It took 10 years to achieve a Soil Carbon Method. Now we can get the
co-benefits of Regenerative Farming and the Income Diversity of a Carbon
Market.

They said an approved Soil Carbon Method would never happen, but it did…
Now what else can we do?

As reported in March, the FIRST Soil Carbon Credits were issued by the
Clean Energy Regulator for the increases in Soil Carbon on Neils Olsen’s
place. 404 of them.

It was the end of a long and winding road for those of us close to the
battle – from a time when we were told ‘There will never be a Soil Carbon
Method to enable a Project’. That was around 2007/2008 - *so, it took 10
years to achieve an approved Soil Carbon Method*. Amazing when one
considers the potential good it can do for Farms, Food Security and Climate
Mitigation.

(If you remember, Carbon Farmers of Australia was quick to snap up 10 of
them for $100 each - which is where we believe the price should be!)
Now, the* same *people are working overtime behind the scenes in the lead
up to the *National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo*

to bring you *the LATEST in the Evolution of the Method and the Tools to
enable the methods.*
*NSW Farmers may be entitled to up to 50% reimbursement* for attending the
2019 National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo!
See if you qualify

The National Carbon Cocky Awards are now open! Who do you want to see
rewarded?

AT THE NATIONAL CARBON FARMING CONFERENCE & EXPO:
WE believe that Australia can have the edge in the most rigorous of all the
Carbon Farming methods AND develop easy ways for people to get going.
Potentially *giving us the pathway to supply many, many Carbon Credits. For
the world.*
So, THAT IS WHAT WE CAN DO NOW - combine the co-benefits of Regenerative
Farming with the Income Diversity that a Carbon Market provides. IF WE
ENGAGE.

So, While I’m not at liberty to reveal everything… What you’ll see at the
National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo will push the boundaries of our
understanding:

   - Think Templates, think Digital Platforms, Think Blockchain…
   - Think talking to Farmers who are implementing Projects – what are
   their experiences?
   - Think Evolution of Soil Testing: The Soil Testing Machines - and
evolution in how this is used…
   - Think getting a rig and helping farmers to get their Soils Tested. All
   Local Land Services take note!
   - Think seeing some great Soil Test Results and expanding your brain.
   - Think building a Fund to assist Farmers to take part.

There is rapid movement, both here and overseas - how about this for a
claim:

*"15 trillion dollar opportunity for farmers to fight climate change"*

Personally I do wonder about that claim, especially when it says ‘start
up’, but it shows you that we need to get our skates on!! *The world is
awakening to the SOIL’s potential.*
