California has the solution to climate change right under its feet. And we
mean that literally. And all it would take to get the ball rolling is $160
million. Los Angeles-based non-profit Kiss The Ground launched its campaign
on Aug. 3 urging people to support a petition asking California legislature
to allocate $160 million from California's Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund
for regenerative agriculture, composting and other land management
practices that help sequester carbon.
Below and attached is a link and an article describing the importance of
soil. The Brochure is on “Soil – A precious Natural Resource” and was
produced for the International Year of Soil 2015.

The publication was written by Gregor Klaus and is illustrated by the
artist Nils Nova. Some spectacular photographs of the microcosm soil are
also included. The focus lies on explaining the functions of soil and the
services it provides. The goal is to raise awareness of the soil functions..
