Dear Amir,

Hi. Hope you are fine and doing well. It would be highly appreciated if you
publish the following photos in FAO
newsletter or other related media of conservation agriculture media.
Please enclosed find three successive photos from our farmers that
shows adaptation of conservation agriculture in their field this year in
Iran. I took all photos in a village namely: Chahardeh.
This village is situated in Kordkoy city one of agricultural area situated
in the western part of Goelstan Province,
north part of Iran. The place which I am living and working as a senior
research scientist and an official instructor of CA for ministry of
agriculture of Iran.

Description of pictures:
First one (June 7 2016) showing of soybean sowing with zero tillage planter
(national planter) which is being produced
in our country. The soybean was planted on wheat residue exactly one day
after wheat harvesting.

Second one: (July 9 2016) showing very good establishment of soybean after
sowing without any irrigation.

Third picture (July 25 2016) showing full coverage of field with soybean
still without any irrigation.

Now our soybean field is in very good condition and only one time was
irrigated. This shows 30 percent water saving in
compare with traditional sowing of soybean (conventional tillage and flood
irrigation pre- sowing). This field is
going to be harvested in coming November.

Farmer of this sample field and other similar field in our province
(Golestan Province) were guided by myself because I
was trained in CIMMYT program on conservation agriculture issues in BISA
farm in India.

Best regards

Esmaeil Asadi
