On behalf of Florita Kentish, Sub-Regional Coordinator, FAO Barbados

Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to inform you that the selection process for the second cohort of Junior Professionals, under Junior Professionals Programme, has commenced. In view of your substantial established network of contacts with relevant institutions, I would be grateful if your organization would disseminate the information herein and below.
The programme aims to have at least 60% representation by young professionals from non- and under-represented developing countries, and at least 50% representation by female participants. Eighteen Junior Professionals were recruited as the first cohort in 2011 and they are now moving on to their second year of assignment. Seven new Junior Professionals will be recruited as soon as possible.
To reiterate, it would be greatly appreciated if you could appropriately broadcast the current vacancy announcements for the Junior Professional Programme among the relevant institutions of the countries you cover. The overview of the programme as well as vacancy annoucements can be found at http://www.fao.org/employment/empl-opportunities/junior-professional-programme/en. Instructions on how to apply can also be found on the same page.
