From: Ludger Jean-Simon [mailto:[log in to unmask]]

All,

As for most other places, Papaya Ringspot Virus (PRSV) in the main biological constraint to commercial production of papaya in Haiti. I work in the souther peninsula of Haiti as Agriculture Program Manager for Catholic Relief Services, and adjunc professor at the agriculture schools of the American University of Les Cayes (AUC) and the University Notre Dame d'Haiti (UNDH).

I have been informed that CARDI has had papaya breeding programs in the recent years. If any of you knows or has the contacts of rearchers at CARDI that have worked or is currently working on papaya, I would appreciate your puting me in contact with him/her.

I am looking forward to getting your response!

Best regards,

Ludger
