animal feed and feed ingredients can be pathways for an array of biological and chemical contaminants resulting in a threat to animal health and welfare, as well as to public health through their transfer to food of animal origin; and ultimately in food losses or trade disruptions. Recently the virus of African Swine Fever has also been object of attention. See for instance the CDC study “Infectious Dose of African Swine Fever Virus When Consumed Naturally in Liquid or Feed<http://newsletters.fao.org/c/16fuGki7X6kqkoYUnb749ed3s>”
