Dear all,

I would like to comment some issues as per developed by previous colleagues

Assessing prevalence of PPR is very important, but we should keep in mind the financial cost and time consuming this activity, particularly when establishing annual prevalence for many (five) years: this suppose the existence of a very good and functionning epidemiological surveillance network in various countries. Unfortunately, this is not the case in the majority of developping countries,as we all know the actual level of our epi. Networks. I believe that an appropriate approach of the PPR control should include in priority, massive vaccination, using safe and good vaccine. This strategy should be combined with a seromonitoring programme, aiming at establishing post vaccination seroconversion. The two activities amongst other, will be discussed during the second and third phases of our e.conference, as themes to be prioritized.

Assessment of post vaccination seroconversion (sero monitoring) could be useful tool for our colleagues who have registered a big outbreak in 2011 and then in 2013 despite the big coverage of vaccination.
Concerning collection of appropriate literatures on PPR, we will appreciate if Dr Adama Diallo, Profs Peter Roeder, Tim Obi and other colleagues could help by providing us with important references on PPR (clinical features, surveillance, etc.).
As I mentioned in my first intervention through out our e conference, control of some PPRlike diseases should be considered as an important point to be developed in the second and 3rd phase of our discussions

Many thanks
