Dear all,

Please join the FAO Livestock Technical Network Webinar on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and the use of antibiotics in the livestock sector.

The webinar will take place on Monday 12 January from 11.00 to 12.30  CET (Rome time, GMT+01:00). You can either attend in person (at Austria Room, C237) or online at  http://fao.adobeconnect.com/r70sq08d6f3/ .
The webinar will consist of presentations and overviews on AMR, as well as the use of antibiotics in the livestock sector and its impact on public health, animal health and welfare, and livestock productivity; interventions from participants; a Q&A section; a facilitated discussion to share information on our work; and discussions on how we would like to coordinate our efforts in the future and to improve our results.

Instruction for participating online (for field-based network members):

        1. If you have never attended an Adobe Connect Webinar before, at least three days before the Webinar, run a four-step diagnostic on your computer to verify that you have everything you need to run Adobe  Connect,  the webinar programme. To do so, link to:

If needed. download the appropriate software into your PC from  http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/  and restart the computer.

2. On the day of the Webinar, approximately 15 minutes before the event starts, access the link
1.      http://fao.adobeconnect.com/r70sq08d6f3/ with a hard-line internet connection using Internet Explorer or Safari. Close other programmes using internet connection. Have your headsets with microphone attached ready and attached to the computer.

Please use only Safari or Internet Explorer as your browser since some functionalities of the programme may not work with other browsers. Open the link to the meeting, as provided above. This link will be activated at the time of the meeting.
b)      Log in as a “Guest” just typing your full name. (You may need to accept the terms and conditions of the programme in the first entry.)

Please type your full name in the “Enter as a guest” box so that we know who you are, as shown in printed screen below:

c)      make sure that your speaker is activated, i.e. the  speaker icon on the top menu is green  . If this icon is white, please reactivate it by choosing “Un-mute my speaker”.
d)      Set up and activate your microphone by following these steps:
(1) click at the microphone icon on the top menu ( );
(2) choose “Allow” when you see this pop-up:

2.      After this, the microphone icon should turn green (i.e. activated).

4.      3. During the meeting:

a) you can privately communicate with other participants via the chat box at the right bottom of the screen  by putting your mouse at the participant’s name and choose “Start private chat”; or you can communicate with all other participants by not choosing the “Private chat” option. During the “Other interventions” and “Q&A” sections, you can also communicate via the microphone. In order to use the microphone: (1) make sure the microphone icon is green; (2) raise your hand (using the indicated icon on the top bar:   and then choose  ) and we will turn on your microphone from our side (as host).

b)If something does not function, please use the chat box to chat privately with the host by putting your mouse at the host’s name and choose “Start private chat” or use the technical chat box provided in the bottom right hand corner or send us a Skype message, using the FAO Livestock Technical Network account ( fao_livestock­_technical_network ).
