Dear all,

As you might have seen in the thematic bulletin on antimicrobial resistance and the use of antibiotics in the livestock sector sent yesterday, FAO's work on the matter is on the rise. It would therefore be beneficial for all of us if you would:

1. add any other relevant document (articles, papers and reports, PPTs, project documents, multimedia resources, etc.) or other information (e.g. on upcoming events) on the theme in the dedicated section of the Livestock Network workspace available at http://goo.gl/tQJTaY, or send them to us and we'll do it for you;

2. let us know if you would be interested in starting a thematic discussion on this topic;

3. get ready for the upcoming webinar on this theme. The webinar, jointly organized with the FAO Food Safety Technical Network, will take place in the Austria Room on 12 January 2015 at 11.00 hrs, Rome time (reported from 17 December 2014 for technical reasons). Everybody can participate through internet facilities. The webinar will consists of presentations and overviews on antimicrobial resistance, the use of antibiotics in the livestock sector and its impact on public health, animal health and welfare, and livestock productivity; interventions from participants; a Q&A section; and a facilitated discussion to share information on our work and discuss how we would like to coordinate our efforts in the future and to improve our results. Speakers will be Annamaria Bruno (Codex Secretariat), Sarah Cahill (Food Safety and Quality Unit), Juan Lubroth (Animal Health Service), et al.

If you are interested in participating in the webinar please register by sending a message to [log in to unmask] ; if interested in intervening, please, let us know and we'll accommodate the time schedule for that; if you have any specific question you would like the speakers to address, please, let us know beforehand.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Daniela

On behalf of the FAO Livestock Technical Network Coordination and Communication Team
