Vaccination with Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) vaccines is a key tool of the PPR Global Eradication Programme (PPR GEP), which aims to eradicate PPR globally by 2030. Vaccination of dogs against rabies is the most cost-effective strategy for preventing rabies in people, and global rabies elimination efforts aim to achieve zero human deaths from dog-mediated rabies by 2030.

In addition to the cost of the vaccines themselves, the implementation of vaccination includes numerous additional costs including vaccine transport, storage, delivery, coordination and awareness costs, and opportunity cost of farmers’ time and transportation to attend vaccination centres.

This panel discussion and Q & A session will explore lessons from co-delivery approaches and integrated delivery strategies for rabies and PPR vaccination to support One Health approaches for more cost-effective health service delivery.

Please find the provisional concept note and agenda attached to this email.
