An Update on the Secure Food Supply Plans
Webinar:
July 12, 2016
11 am EST
Purpose/Objective: During this webinar, Dr. Jim Roth, Iowa State University, will present an update of the continuity of business plans to move animals and animal commodities with no evidence of infection out of a disease Control Area. Plans in development provide science- and risk-based recommendations to guide the movement of milk, swine, cattle, eggs, turkeys and broilers during foreign animal disease outbreaks such as FMD and HPAI. Dr. Roth will describe the objectives and concepts upon which the plans are based and overview some changes to the plans based on the experience with HPAI. USDA is a major supporter of these plans developed through an industry-government-academia partnership. Collectively,
they are known as the Secure Food Supply Plans.
