Antimicrobials play a critical role in treating diseases of animals (aquatic and terrestrial) and plants, helping to ensure food security. However, antimicrobials resistance (AMR) decreases the likelihood that antimicrobials will be effective and affordable, which can put food production, food security, and farmers’ livelihoods at risk. The misuse of antimicrobials in agriculture contributes to the spread of AMR and undermines the effectiveness of veterinary medicines. Making sure these treatments remain effective and available to the agriculture sector is critical. Through this seminar/webinar series we’ll aim at getting some update at the most recent research finding on AMR in the food and agriculture sector, with a special emphasis on crop production. Policy makers, officers in governmental competent authorities and intergovernmental organizations, professional in the food and agriculture sector, academic and researched are all invited to join.
