Highlights from partner countries
Ingredients to ensure the delivery of social protection services
[cid:image013.jpg@01D85BC7.09839EF0]Two conditions are needed to make sure that vulnerable people access social protection. One, governments need to identify and recognize these categories of people who need those services, which happened in Kenya for charcoal producers. Two, vulnerable groups need to be trained about the various possibilities existing in their countries.

How farmers can also become doctors of the soil resources
About 50 percent of the soils in Latin America and the Caribbean suffer from nutrient [cid:image014.jpg@01D85BC7.09839EF0] deficiencies. Family farmers from several producer organizations in Bolivia have been trained to contribute to soil recovery through sustainable practices.

Resources mobilized locally for land restoration in Togo
[cid:image015.png@01D85BC7.09839EF0]Togo participates in the African Forest Landscape Restoration (AFR100) Initiative with a target to restore 1.4 million ha of forested landscapes by 2030. The Coordination Togolaise des Organisations Paysannes et de Producteurs Agricoles (CTOP), representing 500 000 smallholder farmers, contributes to reforest degraded land and develops sustainable agroforestry systems. In a recent round table, 13 project proposals of landscape restoration<https://foris.fao.org/fff2/api/file/626b0c169c11940b80b4b52e/bff6f20f-4a67-40e4-bcd9-766068e69dcf.pdf> were presented to potential local funding partners who committed to engage in seven of those projects this year.
