Dear colleagues,

We would like to thank you for your active participation in the events led by the Forest and Farm Facility at the World Forestry Congress. Together we helped amplify the voices of millions of rural farmers, smallholders and Indigenous Peoples around the world. More and more the role of forest and farm producer organizations as catalytic agent of positive change for resilient food systems and forest landscapes is being recognized in international dialogues.

A good signal is the nomination of Cécile Ndjebet, of Cameroon, who won the 2022 Wangari Maathai Forest Champions Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to preserving forests and improving the lives of people who depend on them. Cécile co-founded and is the director of REFACOF, one of the biggest platform in West Africa for rural women engagement in community forestry. This award is the recognition of the growing importance of the promotion of rural women's rights on the land and forests. As you know, Cécile is also a member of our FFF Steering Committee.

We are happy to inform you that the Congress led to significant outcomes, including the endorsement of the Seoul Forest Declaration, hearing of the Youth Call for Action and the Ministerial Call on Sustainable Wood on the final day (06 May 2022). For detailed information, kindly refer to the overall Congress outcome documents<https://programme.wfc2021korea.org/en>.

Our special event on rural finance was very well attended and brought together a fantastic panel of national and regional FFPO leaders.

We would like to share with you that all the replays in several languages are available on the FFF webpage dedicated to the WFC<https://www.fao.org/index.php?id=115503>, together with some pictures of the events. Please find attached a summary of outcomes of the events that we co-organized.

Attached you will also find separately the outcome of the special event on rural finance that we highlighted in a short video shared on social media.<https://twitter.com/DavidKaimowitz/status/1524390369915510784>

One more time, many thanks for your commitment and for making those events a success for the good of the forest and farm producers and local communities.

We encourage you to continue to follow us on our website<http://www.fao.org/forest-farm-facility/en/>, on Twitter<https://twitter.com/DavidKaimowitz>, and using our hashtag #forestfarmfacility<https://twitter.com/search?q=%23ForestFarmFacility&f=live>.

Best wishes,

The Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) Team together with the Community Based Forestry Team
