Dear Members,
FAO has informed us that during Phase 1 of the re-opening of the country (starting on 4th May 2020) that FAO Headquaters and services will still not be accessible to retirees and visitors and only a skeleton staff will be present. This restricted access and reduced staffing will continue into Phase 2 ( from 18th-29th May). Phase 3 ( June- September) will also have limited staffing and services; it is expected that some new ' normalcy' will only be achieved as September. Specific information is as follows:
Phase 1 – from 5 May until 15 May 2020 –
* Childcare: Will remain closed;
* Bookshop: Will remain closed;
* Italian Post Office: Will remain closed;
* Insurance Office: Will remain closed;
* Banks: Will be open during official hours (only two staff);
* Swiss Post/mail: Only two staff, will be open during official hours;
* DHL/pouch: Will be open at official working hours, only two staff allowed in (this is required due to the heavy backlog for mail and pouch).
* Catering facilities: closed
Phase 2 – From 18 to 29 May
* Childcare: Will remain closed;
* Bookshop: Will remain closed;
* Italian Post Office: Will remain closed;
* Insurance Office: Will open during official times with (two staff max for vehicle insurance and two for medical insurance);
* Banks: Will be open during official hours (only two staff);
* Swiss Post/mail: Only two staff, will be open during official hours;
* DHL/pouch: Open at official working hours (two staff only) (this is required due to the heavy backlog for mail and pouch).
* Catering facilities: closed
Access to FAO will be strictly limited to specific staff. Thermo scanners will be operational and PPE will be provided to staff. Masks are to be worn at all times in the buildings. Lifts will not be operational until Phase 3 starting in June. No meetings are to be held until further notice.
