Flash 39 - Covid-19 Closures at FFOA and Agencies with immediate effect
Dear Members,
Following the announcement by the Government last night to declare all Italy as a Red Zone and to impose restrictions on movements and gatherings etc. the Rome Based Agencies (FAO, WFP and IFAD) are, as of today, implementing their business continuity plans and all Agency Headquarters will essentially be under lockdown and only have essential staff (100 or so) on duty with everybody else expected to telework from home.
The result of the above is:
1. FAO Buildings will be closed to visitors/retirees from mid-day Tuesday 10thMarch until further notice , most probably until 3rd April
2. WFP and IFAD will also be closed to retirees as only essential staff will be working at Hqs
3. All FFOA services and activities in FAO Hqs are suspended forthwith until further notice.
FFOA will be monitoring its mailbox (ffoa@fao org) and will address important enquiries as soon as possible.
We are making arrangements to transfer incoming phone calls to the FFOA office (06-57056016) to one of the office assistants to provide emergency support to members
We have provided contact details in earlier emails for members to contact Cigna but recap these as follows:
