Dear Mountain Partnership members and friends,

We are pleased to invite you to the day-long event Reaching for the stars: Sustainable and climate resilient mountain development<http://www.fao.org/mountain-partnership/events/event-detail/en/c/1437733/>, taking place this Thursday, 7 October 2021 at 11-18 (GMT+4) during Climate and Biodiversity Week at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Co-curated by the Government of Italy, Mountain Partnership Secretariat and Aga Khan Development Network, this event will bring together mountain practitioners, policy-makers, scientists, the private sector and grassroots actors to share local knowledge and best practices in enhancing the resilience of mountain communities, livelihoods and ecosystems, and to galvanize action, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Speakers will engage on how mountains make life possible; the unique fragility of mountains; mountain people and their livelihoods; and the policies that need action on. The event will feature voices from the Andes, Hindu Kush, Alps and Pamirs that shed light on the innovative work being undertaken to tackle the impact of climate change.

To participate virtually, go to virtualexpo.world<https://virtualexpo.world/> on the day of the event and click on "Discover Today's Events" on the bottom right of the screen. Click on the box that is highlighting "live now", and select Reaching for the stars: Sustainable and climate resilient mountain development. Once on the event's landing page, scroll to the video and press play. To proceed, please join.
