Dear Mountain Partnership members and friends,

We take this opportunity to share with you the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD)’s invitation to the virtual launch of their book Earth observation science and applications for risk reduction and enhanced resilience in Hindu Kush Himalaya region: A decade of experience from SERVIR<file:///C:/Users/Abear/OneDrive%20-%20Food%20and%20Agriculture%20Organization/Documents/Mountain%20Cluster-%20LR%20SM%20SA.docx>.

When: 25 August 2021 at 16.30–17.15 Nepal Standard Time

Where: Microsoft Teams

Attendance is free and open to the public!

Co-published jointly with Springer, this open-access book is a consolidation of lessons learned and experiences gathered from efforts to utilize Earth observation (EC) science and applications to address environmental challenges in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region. It includes a complete package of knowledge on service life cycles including multi-disciplinary topics and practically tested applications for the HKH. The book comprises 19 chapters drawing from a decade’s worth of experience gleaned over the course of the implementation of SERVIR-HKH – a joint initiative of NASA, USAID and ICIMOD – to build capacity on using EO and geospatial technology for effective decision making in the region.

The list of speakers, tentative agenda and registration details are available on here<https://servir.icimod.org/events/earth-observation-science-and-applications-for-risk-reduction-and-enhanced-resilience-in-hindu-kush-himalaya-region>.
