Dear Mountain Partnership members and friends,

We take this opportunity to share with you the invitation to the 10th Sustainable Mountain Development Summit on "Towards one health: Making our mountains resilient", hosted by the Darjeeling Himalaya Initiative - the Integrated Mountain Initiative's Darjeeling-Kalimpong Chapter.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, interlinkages between biodiversity, ecosystem health and human health have become starkly apparent, highlighting the need to find solutions that are far-reaching, coherent and collaborative. The key objectives of the 10th Sustainable Mountain Development Summit are to advocate for resilient and sustainable policies and programmes in the Indian Himalayan Region to reduce future risks due to climate change, disasters and pandemics. The Summit also aims to share knowledge and inform policy and decision-makers about the interconnectedness of the selected themes and the importance of "One Health" approaches in all aspects of development in the Indian Himalayan Region.

The Summit opens today! Click here to register<https://bit.ly/2XEhqdu>. For more information, please see the attached agenda and visit the Summit website<https://smds.mountaininitiative.in/>.

Best regards,

The Mountain Partnership Secretariat
