Dear Mountain Partnership members and friends,

We are officially one month away from International Mountain Day<https://www.fao.org/international-mountain-day/en/> on 11 December 2021!

The theme of this year's celebration, 'Sustainable mountain tourism', highlights how innovative and transformative approaches to mountain tourism can contribute to economic, social and environmental sustainability. Mountain tourism plays a role in valuing the natural and cultural heritage of mountains and mountain peoples, promoting sustainable food systems, and protecting mountain ecosystems and their biodiversity.

To help raise awareness on this year's theme find here some posters in English<https://www.fao.org/3/cb7501en/cb7501en.pdf>, French<https://www.fao.org/3/cb7501fr/cb7501fr.pdf> and Spanish<https://www.fao.org/3/cb7501es/cb7501es.pdf> - versions in Arabic, Chinese and Russian will be available soon on our website<https://www.fao.org/international-mountain-day/information-material/en/>.

On the International Mountain Day Trello board<https://trello.com/b/0iLARhcn/international-mountain-day-11-december>, you will find the 2021 International Mountain Day logo, pre-canned tweets, Zoom backgrounds and more.

There is still time until 22 November to participate in the 2021 International Mountain Day photo contest<https://www.fao.org/international-mountain-day/photo-contest/en/>. The prize for the winner of each age category (6-14, 15-24, and 25+) will be an action camera.

Please do not forget to share with us your government or organization's plans for celebrating International Mountain Day 2021 by writing to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

We look forward to celebrating International Mountain Day together!

Best regards,

The Mountain Partnership Secretariat
