CALL FOR REGIONAL DATA SURVEYS

Deadline: 22 July 2022

Dear Mountain Partnership members and friends,

A final call has been issued for surveys on the interdisciplinary mountain data landscape in various mountain regions.

Mountain Research Initiative and GEO Mountains, along with regional partners, undertook a series of consultations and associated surveys on the interdisciplinary mountain "data landscape" - including user data requirements and the extent to which they can presently be met - in several of the planet's major mountain regions.

The surveys remain open, and they warmly welcome the active communities in these regions who have not already done so to contribute to their respective survey(s) - irrespective of attendance at the associated workshops - using the links provided below.

The results of the surveys will be analysed by GEO Mountains Task Group 1.2, who will then develop a GEO Mountains "Data Agenda" report. This report will include a set of recommendations, both general (global) and targeted to the specific regions. In this way, and with your input and in collaboration with our various partner organisations, we hope to ultimately improve the data situation with respect to the present across the world's mountains.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, 22 July 2022.

Kind regards,
