Dear Thomas,

Reading your message puts rage in me.

Yes you are fully right to push to have the cause of mountains mentioned in
a more direct and clear way in the SDGs than it is today.

We should all be aware that :
1 - There are many countries which are composed only from mountains, and my
country Lebanon is one of these countries (if we do not pay attention to
mountains that means tht we do not care about these countries in the future
sustainable development process)

2 - Mountains are source of worship to many civilizations (extent, old and
modern)

3 - Mountains are source of refuge to many civilizations and doctrines
around the world

4 - Not only seas are the source of wind and rain , mountains as well
contribute to the wind and rain production. Without the mountain the see
cannot produce rain alone.

5 - Mountains are the source of biodiversity due to their % of orientation
and height or altitudes

6 - Above all, mountains are THE second source of life after seas and
oceans, they produce fresh water, to help the oceans maintain their
balance; they are the water reservoirs of the world. Without mountain water
, there is no life. Mountains are the source of water to all plains and
coastal lands. All the rivers that feed the main cities in the world have
their water sources in the mountains.

How can we imagine life without mountains. I thought that this is obvious
to everyone. Well it seems that some leaders need reminder about this
natural fact.

We support you in all our means to have mountains fully mentioned in the
SDGs text, in an attempt to restore balance on earth.
