Dear Members of the Mountain Partnership, dear Friends

The team at the Mountain Partnership Secretariat wishes to thank all of you for your commitment to sustainable mountain development and the important work done together during 2014.

Good results have been achieved this year, with mountains receiving high-level political attention during the discussions by the UN Open Working Group in the post 2015 process and as a result, being included in three targets. Together we continue to raise awareness about mountain issues such as with the recent high level side event in Lima<http://www.mountainpartnership.org/news/news-detail/en/c/272675/> during UNFCCC COP 20 and in New York<http://www.mountainpartnership.org/news/news-detail/en/c/273002/> where the International Mountain Day was celebrated at the United Nations. We actively work with members across the world to help spread the word on why mountains matter. Many significant activities have taken place at national and local level, engaging both governments and civil society groups to keep high the momentum on mountains and ensure that they receive investments and political attention.

2015 will be another crucial year for the mountain agenda especially with regards to the finalization of the sustainable development goals and the forthcoming COP 21 in Paris. We look forward to your collaboration and sustained support so we can continue to work for the wellbeing of mountain peoples and the protection of mountain environments around the world.

We send you our best wishes for a relaxing holiday season and a Happy New Year.

Happy New Year, Bonne année, Feliz año nuevo, Felice anno nuovo!<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLUnrUvMWCA&list=UUPbcO3Ai3oYkPQ7Q3tyZbtQ>
