Dear Mountain Partnership Members and Friends,
In celebration of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction on 13 October 2020, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction would like to invite you to a virtual workshop:
Local Level Resilience and Pandemic Risk
Tuesday, 13 October 2020 | 16.30–18.00 (CET)
Register here<https://europa.eu/regions-and-cities/programme/sessions/1139_en>
The dramatic impacts of the global COVID-19 pandemic struck at the heart of local settings, across all regions of the EU. Governments at all levels, in particular, local and regional authorities, have been called upon to provide emergency services, coordinate efforts and mitigate as far as possible the impact on citizens and economies.
Organised in partnership with the European Committee of the Regions and the Centre for European Volunteering, in the context of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2020, the event will bring together local and regional representatives to share their experience in building local resilience in the face of a complex risk landscape, recently exacerbated by the pandemic outbreak.
Please visit the event page<https://europa.eu/regions-and-cities/programme/sessions/1139_en> for more information and feel free to share this information with interested colleagues.
Best regards,
The Mountain Partnership Secretariat
