These global reports are considered the most important FAO products within their respective domains.

All the best,
Your FSN Forum Team
The State of the World’s Forests (SOFO)
SOFO reports on the status of forests, recent major policy and institutional developments, and key issues concerning the forest sector.
Forests provide around 20 percent of income for rural households in developing countries and fuel for cooking and heating for one in every three people around the world. This year's edition of SOFO documents just how essential forests are for the 2030 Agenda objectives ranging from tackling climate change to conserving biodiversity, reducing inequalities and improving urban habitats.

The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture (SOFIA)
SOFIA presents a world review of fisheries and aquaculture including recent trends, statistics and associated policy issues.
Worldwide, nearly 60 million people (14 percent of them women) are directly employed in the fisheries and aquaculture sector. The 2018 edition of SOFIA emphasizes the sector’s role in achieving the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 14, which calls on the international community to effectively regulate fishing practices, and to implement science-based management plans aimed at restoring stocks.
