Dear Partners and Observers,

We are pleased to send you attached the updated agenda for the 6th Bioenergy Week to be held in Buenos Aires 16-18 October 2018, kindly hosted by the Government of Argentina. It promises to be a very informative and stimulating event!
A short information note is also attached, to facilitate your stay in Buenos Aires. Additional confirmation of participation are kindly requested to be sent to us as soon as possible to facilitate logistical arrangements.

Regarding the proposed Activity Group on Advanced Liquid Biofuels (AG8), let us take this opportunity to thank those Partners and Observers who gave feedback on the revised background note and scope of work. The updated version based on these comments is attached.
As discussed at the GBEP meetings in November 2017, the objective is to tentatively agree on this document virtually with a view to possibly get it approved and established by the Steering Committee via email, before the upcoming GBEP meetings in November 2018. This would mean that the first activity of the group could be held back-to-back with the meetings. In this regard, a workshop is proposed to be held in Rome in November, that would take advantage of the final meetings of the Horizon 2020 Project, FORBIO "Fostering Sustainable Feedstock Production for Advanced Biofuels on 'under-utilized land' in Europe", to demonstrate how the GBEP indicators have been used to assess the sustainability of advanced biofuels in some European case studies. This event would represent an opportunity for GBEP to share views and experiences on this thematic area. In light of this, we would kindly ask you to send us any further comments or queries by Friday 21 September to facilitate this process.
We very much look forward to hearing from you soon and to welcoming you all in Buenos Aires.

Kind regards,

GBEP Secretariat
