Dear Partners and Observers,

We would like to gently remind you of some upcoming deadlines related to the Task Force on Sustainability (TFS) and the Working Group on Capacity Building's (WGCB), as communicated in a previous message sent last December (below). In addition, please note that inputs are still welcome for deadlines on the other documents where the deadline was January. All inputs are summarized below.

Inputs to be received by 19 January 2018 (inputs are still welcome)
TFS

* Technical Report on Attribution (available on One Drive<https://unfao-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/constance_miller_fao_org/EtGdLoONNfFIv4v2mSnUencBwUT5yjxehmvZ3sxvDgx4lQ?e=ZEaC3j>) - comments and inputs are kindly requested.

* Stepwise Approach (available on One Drive<https://unfao-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/constance_miller_fao_org/EtGdLoONNfFIv4v2mSnUencBwUT5yjxehmvZ3sxvDgx4lQ?e=ZEaC3j>) - comments and inputs are kindly requested, taking into consideration that alterations will be made to this document based on inputs received during the TFS Meeting.

* Proxies and best practices - relevant studies/reports/documents are kindly requested to be included in an information document on the use of proxies and best practices in the measurement of the GBEP Indicators.

* Environmental, Social and Economic Sub-group Reports 2017 (available on One Drive<https://unfao-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/constance_miller_fao_org/EtGdLoONNfFIv4v2mSnUencBwUT5yjxehmvZ3sxvDgx4lQ?e=ZEaC3j>) - comments and inputs are kindly requested.
WGCB

* AG3 - Bioenergy Week 2018 - inputs are welcomed on potential themes and speakers to be invited to the 2018 Bioenergy Week in Argentina. These inputs will allow the GBEP Secretariat and the hosting Government to formulate a draft agenda of the event to be circulated in due advance.

* AG4 - inputs are welcomed on country experiences on the sustainable transition from traditional to modern uses of wood energy in emerging and developing countries (transcending small and large scale). These inputs will also be used for the purpose of the agenda of the 2018 Bioenergy Week.

* AG7 "Biogas" - expression of interest to become members of the AG7 and/or suggestion of relevant external experts to be nominated for the group are kindly requested. In the latter case (external experts to be nominated) it would be important to send short bios of the identified external experts to the GBEP Secretariat for further circulation to Partners and Observers, and for further confirmation of the group membership.

Inputs to be received by March 2018
TFS

* Data collection repository - inputs/web links to relevant international/regional bioenergy databases are kindly requested in order to compile an online repository.
WGCB

* AG7 "Biogas" - comments and inputs are kindly requested on the CESC paper on "State of Biogas in the World: 2017" (revised version as agreed is available on One Drive<https://unfao-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/constance_miller_fao_org/EtGdLoONNfFIv4v2mSnUencBwUT5yjxehmvZ3sxvDgx4lQ?e=ZEaC3j>).

* AG8 "Advanced biofuels" - comments and inputs are kindly requested on the Scope of Work (available on One Drive<https://unfao-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/constance_miller_fao_org/EtGdLoONNfFIv4v2mSnUencBwUT5yjxehmvZ3sxvDgx4lQ?e=ZEaC3j>).

Subject: Conclusions of the GBEP meetings (Rome, FAO, 28 November-1 December 2017) and next steps

Dear Partners and Observers,

We would like to thank all of those who were able to attend the GBEP meetings in Rome at the end of November for their active participation and contributions.

Please find herewith attached the Co-Chairs Summary for 20th Meeting of the Steering Committee, as well as the Co-chair(s) conclusions for 15th Meeting of the Task Force on Sustainability (along with the TFS Workshop on the Implementation Guide) and for 9th Meeting of the Working Group on Capacity Building. They can also be found in the OneDrive folder<https://unfao-my.sharepoint.com/personal/constance_miller_fao_org/Documents/Forms/All.aspx?slrid=17ba379e%2Df01d%2D4000%2D7bee%2Dc02b80021482&RootFolder=%2Fpersonal%2Fconstance%5Fmiller%5Ffao%5Forg%2FDocuments%2FGBEP%20follow%20up&FolderCTID=0x01200020B023B66ABF464782FB4A180AFF85B3>, as well as on the GBEP website.

The GBEP regular meetings signify just the start of the work of GBEP for the coming year, and based on the very fruitful discussions that occurred, a number of follow-up activities were identified. These can be found in the Co-Chair(s) Conclusions/Summaries and are also listed below for ease, based on their corresponding deadlines.
