Dear Partners and Observers,

We are pleased to circulate a tentative agenda of the next GBEP meetings, be held on 11-13 December 2013 at FAO Headquarters, Rome (Italy). Background documents of the meetings will be circulated in due time. A list of hotels with updated prices is here attached for your convenience. We would like to invite those participants who will need to apply for a Schengen visa<http://www.esteri.it/MAE/EN/Ministero/Servizi/Stranieri/IngressoSoggiornoInItalia/> to kindly let the Secretariat have their confirmation before the indicated deadline of 30 October 2013, in order to allow us to go through the necessary procedures in due time.

We take this opportunity to communicate that Miguel Almada (Argentina) and Bah Saho (ECREEE/ECOWAS) have expressed their availability to become the new Co-Chairs of the WGCB. We would like to invite you to express your views on this and communicate your eventual expression of interest to be a candidate for this position, by the end of this month.

We are also pleased to inform you that GBEP, in collaboration with ECOWAS and with the generous support of the Government of The Netherlands, is organizing a workshop to share - within the ECOWAS region - the results of the piloting of GBEP Sustainability Indicators in Ghana. This workshop will be held in Praia (Cape Verde) on 7-8 November 2013. All GBEP Partners and Observers are welcome to attend and to this end please find attached the concept note of the event (English and French version).

We look forward to welcoming you all in Rome.

Kind regards,

GBEP Secretariat
