Dear Participants,

We have now put all of the messages from this FAO e-mail conference on "Approaches and methodologies in ex post impact assessment of agricultural research: Experiences, lessons learned and perspectives" into a single PDF and made it available on the web.

The file contains in chronological order:
- the Welcome message I sent before the conference began
- the 109 messages from participants posted during the 4-week conference
- the final message I posted on 2 June closing the conference, providing also a brief summary about participation.

It is available from the website of the FAO Research and Extension Unit (http://www.fao.org/nr/research-extension-systems/res-home/news/detail/en/c/217706/) or can be directly downloaded from http://www.fao.org/fileadmin/user_upload/research_extension/docs/impactmsgs.pdf (630 KB).

I remind you that the 18-page conference background document is available at http://www.fao.org/docrep/019/as549e/as549e.pdf and that all of the messages posted during the conference are also available at the searchable archives https://listserv.fao.org/cgi-bin/wa?A0=Impact-L

As you will be aware, this e-mail conference took place as a part of FAO's contributions to the project on the Impact of Research on EU Agriculture (IMPRESA, http://www.impresa-project.eu/). This EU-funded 38-month project began in November 2013 and the kick-off meeting took place at FAO Headquarters on 23-24 January this year. The project will, inter alia, survey the trends, sources and objectives of agricultural research across Europe; carry out in-depth analysis of research impact pathways in six case studies of innovation in agriculture; and analyse the effects of agricultural research on productivity and other relevant economic, environmental and social dimensions in selected European countries. For those who wish to follow the progress and outcomes of the IMPRESA project over time, please visit the News page on the IMPRESA website (http://www.impresa-project.eu/help-navigation/news.html) which will be regularly updated or subscribe to the RSS feed at http://www.impresa-project.eu/help-navigation/rss-feed.html

With best regards

John
