Dear Ruth, thank you for sharing this news & link. I look forward to reading Brazil's report -- particularly its references to BFN and food composition.
Best,
Carol

Dear all,Our Brazilian colleagues from
our GEF-funded project “Mainstreaming Biodiversity
Conservation and Sustainable Use for Improved Human
Nutrition and Well-being” (BFN see www.b4fn.org,
coordinated by Bioversity International and
implemented by FAO and UNEP in Brazil, Sri Lanka, Turkey and
Kenya) just informed us that Brazil's 5th National
Report to the CBD is already on the Convention's website
(http://www.cbd.int/reports/search/
) and it refers to the BFN Project. You will find
references in the section 1.2.3.3 (Biodiversity for Food and
Nutrition), 1.4.7.1 (Native biodiversity) and during the
analysis of the progress of National Target 13 (page 197).
You will see that one of the
important components is the analysis of food composition.
Linking food composition and biodiversity to agriculture and
other sectors’ policies, programmes and plans of
action is key in improving our food supply, among others.
Interesting, no? A good
example, I think
Best
