Dear INFOODS Community,

Thank you for the information you have sent through on this.

I am now looking for a lab to test a sample of deep fried foods to confirm the presence of Polydimethylsiloxane (Antifoam 900a). I am based in Australia but can ship the samples internationally. As such, I was wondering if anyone had details of a lab that could do this?

Thank you in advance for your help

Kind regards,

Sarah

Subject: Testing for Polydimethylsiloxane

Dear INFOODS Community,

I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this but I recall meeting a few chemists / analysist during my INFOODS course so thought I ask.

I am wanting to analyse a deep fried food sample for the presence of the antifoam Polydimethylsiloxane (Antifoam 900a). As such, I wondered if any of the analysist in this group could point me in the right direction? That is, a lab if anyone knows of one or any information on the testing I should be asking for.

I have ask the lab that we work with for our nutrition analysis but they were not able to help.

Thank you in advance for any information you are able to provide.

Kind regards,

Sarah Patterson
