May Prof Akinyele rest in peace. One way we can honour him is by ensuring that the good work in food Composition that he started in Nigeria, West africa, and Africa in general continues as he would have wished.

Also, you can post something on Nutrition Society of Nigeria's website as well as the website of WEST AFRICA JOURNAL OF FOOD AND NUTRITION operated by Prof AKINYELE himself.

Dear Victor
Thank you for informing us of this sad news. Is there a close family member to whom we could send condolence messages, or a site where we could write a tribute?
Best regards,
Barbara

Subject: Prof. Isaac Olu Akinyele Passed On

Dear Colleagues,

We at AFROFOODS deeply mourn the untimely and shocking passing on of our amiable coordinator who has given so much to the field of nutrition and has contributed significantly to improved food security and biodiversity exploitation in Africa. The last one week has been a period of great sadness for us in Nigeria. The first major workshop of the National Working Group on Food Composition held only in November, 2013 at his instance, and we
are just about getting a complete FCDB for Nigeria!
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
