Dear Ruth and all,
Thanks for the nice messages on behalf of these celebrations. Wish you all a Happy Christmas and New Year!!!!!
A nutritionist of our Salt Program team, Adrian Fatjo, estimated the Front of Package Labels (FOP) for Typical Christmas Dishes in Costa Rica. These may be homemade or purchased in the supermarket.
Please find attached:
· If all preparations are eaten in a single meal time (as usually done)
· For individual preparations (for ex. when going back for seconds)
The foods are called "tamal" (maize´s puree with chopped meats and vegetables, all wrapped in banana leafs-you don't eat leaf!), "rompope" (eggnog) and Christmas cake.
Our goal is to raise awareness in the population on the high content of nutrients and the recommendation of consuming them in moderation during holidays.

Asunto: Merry Christmas and a happy new year
Dear all,
I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
It has been a pleasure to collaborate with all of you and I would like to thank you for all your work and commitment to bring food composition and biodiversity forward by strengthening the science basis on food composition and biodiversity for nutrition and other programmes and policies; enhancing the capacities of professionals and students in food composition; in generating, compiling and publishing new data, food composition tables and databases; developing new guidelines; raising the awareness of the importance of food composition and biodiversity; and all the other things I cannot mention all. A sincere thanks to all the contributions you were able to provide, small or big, constant or ad hoc, it does not matter. The importance is that we all contribute something which is feasible for each of us.
I am looking forward to another productive year of the INFOODS family
Take a nice break (big or small) with family and friends, enjoy the end year season and looking forward to collaborate with you in 2015
All the best
Ruth
