WORLD FOOD DAY and WORLD FOOD FORUM 2022



14 October – World Food Day <https://www.fao.org/world-food-day/about/en> global ceremony



The Heads of FAO and World Food Programme (WFP) and guests will participate in the ceremony, which will feature special messages from Pope Francis and the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, as well as the presentation of FAO’s first-ever Achievement Award.



17-21 October – World Food Forum (WFF)<https://www.world-food-forum.org/en>, which will comprise the WFF Global Youth Forum, the FAO Science and Innovation Forum and the FAO Hand-in-Hand Investment Forum



The events’ highlights include the participation of global leaders, such as the Presidents of Peru, Poland, São Tome and Principe, Honduras and Panama; as well as celebrities including Grammy Award winning musicians Lonnie Park and Ricky Kej.







​Building on last year’s success, the Second Edition of the

World Food Forum (WFF) flagship event will take place at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, Italy, as well as in virtual form.



The WFF Global Youth Forum<https://www.world-food-forum.org/flagship-event/2022/en> will focus on the theme “Healthy Diets. Healthy Planet.” The aim is to raise awareness among young people and spark action on the connection between climate change and access to safe and nutritious food and healthy diets.



The Science and Innovation Forum<https://www.fao.org/science-technology-and-innovation/science-innovation-forum/en> will highlight the crucial role of science, technology and innovation in transforming our agrifood systems and explore scientific advances and the opportunities and risks associated with them.



The Hand-in-Hand Investment Forum<https://www.fao.org/hand-in-hand/investment-forum-2022/en> will provide a platform for national authorities, global and national public and private entities, along with multilateral development banks and donors, to discuss opportunities to finance the Hand-in-Hand Initiative.
