22 April: Council Side-event on new, unified approaches to ending hunger in Africa. 13:00-14:30, Green Room, 1st floor bldg. A, FAO HQ. Ministers and high-level government representatives from various countries including Angola, Ethiopia, Malawi and Niger, as well as African Union (AU) Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture Rhoda Peace, will discuss promoting food security and better nutrition in Africa. FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva will also participate. The event is a preparatory session ahead of a high-level meeting on the same theme to be held in Addis Ababa from 30 June to 1 July.
