The press conference follows an awards ceremony from 15:00-18:00 Sunday to honour thirty-eight countries that have pulled millions of people out of hunger on their way to attaining their World Food Summit or Millennium Development Goal targets. Red Room.

Amartya Sen, winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize for Economics, will give the McDougall Memorial Lecture, entitled "Why Is There So Much Hunger in the World?"
14:30, EC President José Manuel Barroso will accept an FAO award for actions by the EU that reduced hunger worldwide. Other award winners will also be honoured.
