As the article below shows, food waste is common in many countries. I was wondering if list members have data for their countries ... and in particular for dairy products?

======================================

In the UK a survey carried out by Birds Eye with research by Wrap (Waste & Resources Action Programme) earlier this year, it was revealed that the average family throws away £700 of food a year.

Vegetables topped the list of the most commonly wasted food group, followed by bread and fruit, and 40pc of those polled felt guilty for wasting food.

The main reason cited for wasting food was buying too much (37pc), with 22pc doing so because of supermarket offers including buy one get one free deals or similar.
