Small farms use simple technology which can be accessed easily. On small farms family labour could be utilized efficiently. Products could be diversified and productivity would be enhanced.
Given the climate variability problem affecting currently our agriculture the product diversification on small farms could be a means for adaptation and resilience of the food system in our region. For example: from a small farm in our region products like crop, tree, forage, fruit, spices and vegetables can be produced within the same time through an agroforestry system.
In general on small farm it is possible to practice a low-input – high input agriculture.
