Dear colleagues and ECTAD members,

Due to technical difficulties yesterday, the release of issue no. 574 was delayed until this morning. Please find attached the weekly situation update for HPAI including summaries of suspected, confirmed and denied HPAI outbreaks/cases in affected countries. Since the last update, the following new items have been included:

ASIAN REGION

Bangladesh
- Suspected H5N1 infection in a human (Chittagong)

China
- Confirmed H7N9 avian influenza infection in humans (Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang)
- Confirmed presence of H7N9 avian influenza infection in domestic birds in live bird markets (Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang)

Japan
- Denied avian influenza in a wild bird (Niigata)

Nepal
- Confirmed H5N1 HPAI outbreak in poultry (Chitwan)
- Confirmed H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry (Lumbini, Mechi, Narayani)

Viet Nam
- Suspected H5N1 infection in a human (Dong Thap)
- Suspected HPAI outbreak in poultry (Dong Thap)
