As a key policy stakeholder contributing to AMR containment efforts, we invite you to participate and share your views and insights at a bi-regional (Asia and Africa) AMR Policy Workshop, organized by the RADAAR Project consortium which is led by the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), Seoul, Korea.
As the only Fleming Fund regional AMR project fully dedicated to the thematic domain of ‘Policy, Planning, and Advocacy’, and building on the highly successful previous RADAAR events including the Regional Data Workshops (June – July 2021) and ‘The Gamechangers’ series of 6 policy webinars (Sept – Oct 2021), this Policy Workshop responds to the priority topics and needs expressed by national/regional/global AMR stakeholders through the RADAAR Online Survey and Key Informant Interviews.
The workshop will have a series of sessions covering various key topics including: re-thinking mechanisms of AMR emergence and spread; integrated (One Health) analysis; approaches to AMR economic analyses; integrated surveillance systems; AMR workforce development; policy implications arising from the GRAM, CAPTURA, and MAAP projects; reflections on mobilizing resources for national AMR interventions; and the systematic translation of AMR data/evidence into policy briefs.
The workshop will be held virtually from 12-14 April 2022 through the Zoom platform, every day at these times: Seoul 5:00-8:00PM | London 9:00AM-12:00PM | Geneva 10:00AM-1:00PM | Nairobi 11:00AM-2:00PM | Bangkok 3:00-6:00PM
Workshop Goal: To contribute to strengthening capacities for evidence-informed AMR policy-making, in support of National Action Plan implementation.
Specific Objectives:
1. To share and discuss insights, experiences, and current thinking on policy-relevant issues impacting AMR policymaking.
2. To advance understanding and knowledge on approaches, analyses, methodologies, and national/regional engagement, towards strengthening capacities for evidence-informed AMR policymaking.
Expected Outcomes:
1. Improved understanding among participants of current thinking on policy options for AMR containment.
2. Enhanced knowledge and a demand for capacity-strengthening in translating AMR surveillance data and evidence into effective policy pitches.
A link to participate will be shared with you once you register for the workshop. We kindly request you to confirm your participation by 7 April 2022, by registering your interest through this link:
