Climate Change Crisis and One Health
A dialogue from experts, UN organizations and OIE

The webinar was organized by FAO in collaboration with OIE, UNEP, WHO and Eco Health Alliance under COP 26 Health Pavilion. The event brought together institutions and experts from FAO, OIE, WHO, Eco Health Alliance and with an introductory overview of FAO's Chief Veterinary Officer of FAO Dr. Keith Sumption. The webinar was an opportunity for providing insights and recommendations on the linkages between Climate Change Crisis and One Health. Bringing all sectors together and using the One Health multisectoral approach was recognized as an opportunity to address the linkages of climate change with the emergence of zoonosis, disasters, food safety, AMR, livestock production and health and how better production can support adaptation and mitigation efforts to cope with the consequences of climate change and loss of biodiversity. Anticipatory action, workforce development, foresight and preparedness and response functions of health systems to climate sensitive diseases and health threats was recognized as essential to mitigate the impact of climate on human health, animal health and ecosystem health.
