Asia and Pacific Commission on Agricultural Statistics - 24

The FAO office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP) is organizing the Twenty-forth Session of the Asia and Pacific Commission on Agricultural Statistics (APCAS 24), in Da Lat, Viet Nam from 8 to 12 October 2012 at the kind invitation of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
Purpose of the meeting
The 24th Session of the Commission will be organized to: (i) assess the current status of food and agricultural statistics in member countries; (ii) inform the member countries about the FAO activities in food and agricultural statistics during the preceding biennium, particularly in Asia and the Pacific; and (iii) discuss new developments in agricultural statistics.
Attendance
The Session is expected t be attended by APCAS members and observers as well as regional and international organisations. There are 25 APCAS members, namely Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China People's Rep. of, Fiji, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Islamic Rep. of, Japan, Republic of Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States of America, and Viet Nam.
Official invitations were sent to all APCAS member countries and organizations last July. The deadline for nominations was 15 August 2012. Please hurry up if you have not sent your nomination as hotel special rates will be guaranteed only for those who register on time.
