CIVICUS World Assembly
Recent developments from FAO: YUNGA, 3 September 2012
Dear All,
CIVICUS World Assembly
The CIVICUS World Assembly serves as a primary venue for civil society practitioners, researchers, activists, concerned business leaders and representatives from governments to share ideas and experiences on strengthening
citizen participation.
The World Assembly’s main objective is to create a space where a diversity of voices can be heard, a space to exchange experiences, challenges,
successes and dreams and, most importantly, concrete ideas for a more equitable and just world. One of the World Assembly’s strengths is its ability to act as a forum where groups from all sectors around the world develop successful models for advancing national,
regional and global agendas, and for finding solutions to the crises that the world is facing today.
Therefore on September 4th there will be a post-2015 side event taking place in the Delta Hotel. During this event we will be holding two livestreams and also promoting interaction with the event on Twitter. We will
also be recording further video for the World We Want 2015 at a side table during the youth and main assemblies.
Theme for the Event is : ACTING TOGETHER FOR A JUST WORLD. Defining a new social contract – making the future together
Below is the hashtag we will be using for the event, as well as a tweet that you can use to promote interaction on September 4th as well as for the rest of the World Assembly.
Please send this information throughout your networks so we can ensure a large amount of active participation.
